Since 1993, we have been serving the families of Northwest Indiana, providing quality preschool and childcare for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. We are a level 3 Paths to Quality Provider, On My Way Pre-K grant recipient and are also part of the Federal Food Program which enables us to serve the most healthy, nutritious foods to our children.
Our purpose is to meet the developmental needs of children physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially. We believe that hands-on learning creates an environment that encourages children to enjoy the learning process and sets the stage for life-long learning. Children learn best through play and that play is children's work!
“PLAY is the highest form of RESEARCH.” – Albert Einstein
At Caring Hearts and Open Arms (“CHOA”), we strive to not only provide the best education possible but also doing so within a safe and secure environment. Our building is equipped with a video surveillance system that monitors the premises 24 hours a day. Our facility requires permission to enter via video intercom buzz in system. Our two playgrounds are equipped and grouped to meet the varying age and developmental needs of our students. The playgrounds are also separated and surrounded by fences to ensure safety and security. We maintain a low teacher to child ratio and each classroom is designed to ensure that every child’s needs are met individually.
Our staff has a genuine passion for early childhood development. Every member of our team has undergone extensive health and safety screenings and have been First Aid and CPR certified. In addition to annual testing and certification for First Aid and CPR, we also require that our facilitators undergo at least 20 hours of continuing education per year.
